I recently took a class over a moment in time that people have come to refer to as the Beat Movement. During this
class I started to see aspects of one of my favorite movies of all time. The movie of course was "Fight Club". During my exploration
into the Beat Movement I read three books: "On the Road" by Jack Kerouac, "The Dharma Bums" by Jack Kerouac, and "Naked Lunch"
by William Burroughs. During the reading of these books, I felt little instantaneous frames of Tyler Durden making themselves
present. "Fight Club" actually portrays the way that the Beats thought and acted. Concepts of Zen Buddhism can even be
seen when one pays close enough attention to the movie. In other words, Fight Club is not just another Hollywood action movie,
I have come to see it as a modern-day Beat Movement.
Anybody that has not seen the movie "Fight Club" would do well to see it before reading on. Otherwise you will be completley
lost. For those few that have not seen this movie, however, I will supply a short summary of the story that has changed the
way a lot of people think.
